Tews, just look on ebay under viper fairing, bikini fairing, cafe fairing.... A lot of people call them different things. I've seen them on craigslist for around $25 before too. You may even be able to find a forum member to sell one if you post it in the "parts wanted" section. Good luck!

Thanks bud... How effective is it? mI never had a fairing until I got my Cb550... Its an old vetter and needs to be removed....

Well, it's better than nothing, but I think it's more for looks than function. It does block a ton of bugs and it really does take the wind off my chest, but it won't really keep rain off you. You can duck behind it if you want to, but about the only times I do that is when it's really windy. It's not very comfortable for me to lay down across my bike. It won't serve the same function as the Vetter, but will look a lot cooler.  8)

I have a set of LED small winkers on one bike and stock on all my other bikes, prefer the original style and visibility.  I use hand signals in dense traffic and ride as though no one sees me; more importantly, I ride within my limits, giving plenty of time to stop when the motorist does the unexpected. "I didn't see him."  I was a service manager at a large shop back in the 70's and have written hundreds of insurance estimates, usually due to "I didn't see him".  Back then I agreed, as I got older and watched more riders and thought about the circumstances in all those accidents I realized that most all were preventable if the motorcycle rider had been riding defensively and within his/her limits.  My 40+ years of observations...Larry

+1 on the MSF course.  Also, Proficient Motorcycling  by David L. Hough is a very good read.
