Topic: Storing stock parts

Someone gave me an idea, an idea that I think may be a smart choice... Hopefully you ll can help me with this..... Since the stock exhaust is in good shape. Should I take it off, treat it, store it for later down the line and replace it with a different exhaust to take the punishment of daily driving?

Would you be replacing it with a stock exhaust in not as good condition or an aftermarket system.  It sounds like you want to simply preserve your very nice system.  If you can find a stock system that fits the bike for a good price then why not?  Otherwise I'd leave it alone.

I was talking to a band member about my guitar amp, a mid 70s Fender Vibrolux Reverb.  I told him I was thinking of putting it into semi retirement and using something newer and less valuable for my workhorse amp.  He said something like "then what's the point of owning it?  You might as well use it."
And he's right.  Honestly I'd stick with what you've got unless you don't like it that much.

I agree...what's the point in having it if it sits some where no one can see or enjoy it. Reminds me of a T-shirt I just got with a pic of my KO on it...it says, "ride 'em don't hide 'em."
