anyone modified there cb750 to better suit their height?
« on: August 07, 2011, 05:50:07 PM »
ive taking a real liking to my 77 cb750k, but i feel awkward riding it. im 6 ft 4.  long legged as h*ll. i ride with my feet on the pegs attacthed to the crash bar and i use the heel of my boot to reach back and kick the gear shifter.

just wondering if any other tall guys or gals done any mods to better suit there height?
i really want any mod i do to y bike to be reversible. that way i can always put it back stock.
i thought about a taller handlebar or maybe extended swing arm. i dont know. im new to street bikes and just looking for some ideas

Over size fork tubes, taller shocks, taller bars as you said.  All very doable. None of that will change the distance from the seat to the pegs.  Might I suggest a 79 or 80 CB750F Supersport?  Those were as tall as a horse.

Add more foam in the seat and recover. Odd most people go the other way.

Try riding with your feet on the passenger pegs. If that feels more comfortable, consider relocating the foot-pegs.

forward controls, taller bars, may help, but being that tall the bike will always feel kinda small and awkward, I am 6'3" so I know the feeling, my cb750 is now 9 1/2' long, fits me though!

im 6 6 and ive just kinda accepted it... i have thought about puting larger rear shocks on her to make her taller but your are prob gonna want forward controls.. but that brings out the cruiser side of the bike ( a little less sporty) but if you put  a rearset on thats gonna make you put your weight on your hands more

i like the idea of more foam in the seat its the only reasonable adjustment that changes the distance between your legs and the pegs and leaving teh bike stock

rearsets will help. mind you i'm only 5'8" but my tall friends said its very comfy for them.
I made these by the way, pretty easy. but there are ones available out there.
