This procedure that someone has decided to call a "plug chop" has been around since 1960 at least. We just did not give it a name.
There are easier ways to see if your MAINJET is the right size.
Because at WOT that is what you would be checking.
IF you go to full throttle in high gear and it just keeps accelerating leave it alone,
If you go to full throttle in high gear and the speed seems to flatten out then increase the MAINJET size.
BTW....Changing plugs when the engine is hot is a good way to strip spark plug threads. That is why it is not done much any more.
If you plan on doing it, spray some WD or tri-flow on the spark plug threads or anti sieze so you do not strip the spark plug threads.
