Hey you Aussies, Kiwi's first OK!
« on: July 12, 2011, 12:40:06 AM »
Message to the Aussie riders, since we just let your girls win the Netball final (we know how you sulk when we beat you)  ;D it would only be fitting for you guys to let us Kiwi have Godzilla and the SOHC4 pennant first!
Allowing GZ to tour Aussie was always going to be a gamble as historically theft is an Ocker trait eh, no insult intended.
I mean I know you guys couldn't arrange a beer in a pub so if we go first (as naturally we should) it will give Terry and his mob more time to get those rusted scooters you call bikes running OK!
I know you will see the sense in letting us go first.  :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Well I've got no problems with that Hushy, I mean, New Zealand is so small half it's population lives in Oz anyway, (mostly in our jails and whore houses.........) so it'll only take a couple of hours to do the whole leg of the Kiwi "Middle Earth" tour, earthquakes permitting, of course.

Of course, I don't speak for the rest of the Aussies here, so they may have differing opinions on whether New Zealand  should even be considered worthy of being allowed to participate in this auspicious event at all, but you guys have had a rough time of it in recent months, so I think you deserve a bit of a break.

Just make sure that it doesn't disappear down a hole in the ground mate, we do want to see it eventually! Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah, you'd better let the Kiwis get it over with before they get swallowed up by another earth quake.

Oh and Terry, THANKS FOR VOLUNTEERING TO BE THE OZ COORDINATOR and you do NOW speak for the rest of the Aussies! You have a topic to get started on: Team Australia so quit harassing the Kiwi fruit and get working  ;D

You guys crack me up big time. I'd sure like to sit down at the bar with you guys!  ;)

I thought Retro Rocket had already "volunteered" to be Oz coordinator??? Also, it sounds like it will be a bit warm in OZ by the time Godzilla gets there if he goes to NZ first.

Nah, i'm no organiser mate, actually i have a lot of respect for guys like Jerry that put all their time and effort into something like this.....I may not even have a bike together for this yet....I may have to throw my second bike together first or sneak down and pinch one of Terry's..... ;D    Just quietly, we all know what our Kiwi friends do to their sheep.......We would really like a virginal Godzilla if possible...... ;D ;D ;)

Let me know if there's anything that I can do to help from up the top here guys.

We've got a favorite jumping croc up this way called Brutus.
He's got one front leg missing from a shark attack but he's still going ok.
Would Godzilla be keen to meet Brutus?

How about a state coordinator for each state? That'd make things easier, I'd reckon? Cheers, Terry.  ;D

Terry, it looks like you are drafted as the main OZ coordinator. Start lining up your regional lieutenants, either by state or geographical region. Learn from Jerry's example: he enlisted (sometimes drafted ;)) some of us to be responsible for a region, allowing him to be able to see the big picture, without having to follow every detail.

What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

How many states you got? That's a pretty damn big island from what I can tell (not that I know WTF I'm talking about) If you have enough riders that would be a good idea. Each guy will be more familiar with his territory than all the others. He can round up riders in his area and they set their own ride just as long as the different regions connect with one another. Flexibility is a must. Always best to have a lot of input but only one final outcome from all. Sometimes we refer to drafting coordinators as begging, right Scottly?!  ;D You guys may not be able to cover the whole island and that's OK. Just do what you can. This is just a big connect the dots game  ;) You and the Kiwis have your spring and summer to do your thing so there's no hurry. When you guys are done then we send GZ to England perhaps for their springtime to start the European Relay. Piece of cake (mostly). You are Da Man! Just damn glad you're on my team  ;) Too bad those sneaky Kiwis jumped on this first. I found out that GZ likes Makers 46  ;)

Terry's idea with a State coordinator is a good one.

I think that the East Coast/South Oz run should be reasonably straight forward and after that it really is out into no mans land with the vast open distance up here to the Northern Territory and then across to Western Australia (or vise versa)

One option would be to fly GZ in an air satchell across these distances.
If he weighs no more than 5kgs, (11 lbs) and isn't too big, I could organise to fly him anywhere in Aust for about 25>30 bucks so that won't be a problem.
There are some other ways of doing this and we can cross that bridge then if it comes to it.

If I was you
