Shock studs, or lack thereof......
« on: May 03, 2006, 11:42:42 AM »
......Hello, need to replace these on my 750F, does anyone know where I can source the correct threaded rod, and what size and pitch these studs should be? Looks like a coarse thread 10mm.  Original owner (or someone) appears to have stripped the right side, then rethreaded the stud to a MUCH smaller English size. A bit bothersome................ :o I know these studs are part of the frame......anyone replace them? TIA Peter

I have a scrap frame, but there is only one good shock stud. Is it only one you need? I can remove it if you'd like.

As long as the stump the shock sits on is the same diameter as it should be you should have no problem with using a smaller size nut to hold it in place.

There are several past threads about this topic. We drilled mine out and then threaded a rod into it with a nut on the back...then tack-welded it in place...don't remember the size. But, its been solid for over 18 months now. I check it every now and then to see how our welds are holding up...hope this helps!
