plug caps arcing

 today after a great ride i was idling in the driveway and heard a clicking sound. i looked down to notice #4 plug cap arcing to the cylinder head, but only at idlle, as the rpms went up it goes away. is it the cap? can i get away with electrical tape it till monday? thanks carl.

  I've had this happen and yes, it was the cap. Wrapping the cap in electric tape stopped it from arcing to the head. Performance improved when I replaced the cap after cutting 1/8-1/4" from lead to get some fresh wire exposed.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

I got a replacement NGK cap at a local shop for about $4 last week. It has "NGK" in raised white but otherwise is an exact match.
