X-ring chain
« on: July 13, 2011, 11:07:03 AM »
Will an x-ring chain fit a 1970 CB750 without endangering the casework?

Yes I have used one (RK X-ring) on a 1972 CB750 with no issues.

Thanks Andy. I wonder if the '70 is any different. Are you using a 530 x-ring? I'm on a Goldwing in Anchorage right now or I'd go look. I'd like to order one and get it on before the relay gets to my neck of the woods. I'm using Diamond right now and lube and adjust every hundred miles. Seen guys up here on the Alcan riding Vstroms who lube once a day and adjust every 15,000 miles. For that I'll give up some horsepower and mileage.

Yes I used a 530 x-ring chain. I never really pay much attention to the mileage between adjustments but its certainly not ever 100 miles! and I lube it every so often. Makes for a smooth ride.

Have fun in Anchorage!
