Hey Man,
I recently became a ZRX owner and ran across this thread.
So I'm wondering how you like the fitment of that seat Cowl?

 Mine...

Love the harder to find blue one (with the Muzzy exhaust).

I recently helped a friend buy a 2002 ZRX, and I got to ride it through some twisties. I was impressed at how well balanced it was and how easy it turned.  Great big bike torque that handled like a lighter bike.

Love the blue

One of these days. . . .

They are becoming more and more collectible.  Big ZRX subculture in Japan.

I lucked out finding this blue one locally, So far I've been very happy with the performance & handling.  Just need to get use to the weight, most of what I ride has been in the 400lb's range and this suck'a is tipping the scales around 500.

I do like the Muzzy but first thing I did was trim about 5" of the length.  (I know, I CUT a MUZZY!) ;)

That bike was trick back in the day, and it still holds up.  The person who I helped buy the 2002 ZRX was able to keep up with my Thruxton 1200R and my buddy's BMW RNineT with no issues for some spirited canyon riding.

I'd suggest Avon Roadriders if available in your size. Put them on my Z1, great tire...

I respectfully disagree.  It's a semi-modern bike with 17" modern rubber:
Front tire:   120/70-ZR17
Rear tire:    180/55-ZR17

I'd go with any quality sport rubber.  I have Bridgestone S21 and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires on my modern bikes.  Both are very grippy.

What do you know... I actually just ordered a set of the Bridgestone S21 earlier today.  I was also looking at the Pirelli Diablo & the Shinko Raven but settled on the S21's.   Thanks for the input guys!

 Pinback,
Did you notice much of a difference with the taller wind screen on the red one?

 Scott,
How did you like the Sargent seat?  I find myself sliding forward on the stock one.

I can't speak for the ZRX seat, but my similar Sargeant on my FZ is awesome -- cures all the ills of the stock seat (support both fore and aft).

Hey there Godffery, the seat cowl is just one of those pop on type deals. Simple with 4 tabs that gold under the seat. I like it because #1 I never take riders, #2 does work as a butt stop when you get into a nice tuck and #3 it looks cool.

Tire wise, I just put on a set Shinko Podiums. First time with them and happy. First ride of the season is always a bit awkward, and these tires made me feel like I was a slot car on a track. My bike is at 30K miles now. Worst tire yet was a Metzzzlller sticky and short lived. Not practical for daily whips. OEM Dunlops I got 11K miles out of......

I put in an order for new set of swingarm bearings. I have had this bike for 22 years. In that 22 years this is the second repair. (First was a frayed throttle cable) oil your cables boys.

I am thinking to swap back to the stock headlight setup as well.

Two of my friends have those and they like to ride them together in tandem. They love them. One would be on my bucket list also if the right deal comes along. I know they made other colors but that green is pretty iconic and hard to beat.
