What is the length of the left side axle spacer?
« on: July 14, 2011, 10:30:10 AM »
Hi Guys,

I am putting together a k5 750. I am having difficulty getting the rear wheel on. The spacer on the sprocket side seems too wide and I am starting to think it may be for another bike. Does anyone have a sprocket side rear axle spacer they can measure for me and tell me the width?

Thanks.

Anyone? I can cut the spacer I have, but I need to know the correct length. I don't have one lying around to measure.

It appears to be 23mm. If you really need it exact, I'll get my digital and measure it. But I'm wondering if you maybe have them, as i did, in wrong order or the inside stepped one on the outside?

No, I have them in the right order. The wheel is stock and from the bike I am working on. The axle was handed to be separately and said to be from this bike, but other CB750 axle nuts (which I have plenty of) do not screw on, so I am thinking this is an axle and spacer from something else entirely. It is the right diameter and appears to be the right length and the spacer looks right, but when I assemble the axle and spacers the assembly is about 1/4 inch too wide to fit in the swingarm. The spacer is not flared. It is a straight tube. This spacer is exactly one-inch long, which also surprised me on a metric bike.

If I could get an exact measurement I would be in your debt, Rider.

Sorry for the lame first try. I must've bumped my old caliper before putting it to a scale.

On my digital caliper its .73" or 18.57mm.

I have a couple of complete rear axles spacers, adjusters if you need parts. I'd like to sell each as a unit. I bot them from eBay looking for a pristine one. Had to buy new. These are pretty good. but all have hammer marks and filth on them.

Ah, that makes sense.

I may take you up on that offer, Rider. First I am going to try to cut this bastard spacer down and see if it will all go together. If this stainless steel spacer defeats my cutter or my patience, how much might you want for a complete rear axle assembly? PM me.
