Internal Throttle and Clutch?
« on: September 05, 2007, 09:52:33 PM »
I see I can buy both 1" and 7/8" intenal throttle controls. Any one ever tried it on one of our old 750s?  With the push me pull you set up we have it may be a bit tricky, but I'm looking for trick stuff for the Tracy build. It will be my last build on one of these old Honda bikes and I want to do everything I can imagine with it.

You dont NEED the push cable, the carb return spring is strong enough.

All I've been able to find is 1" as well but I previously asked about this and some people find it may be dangerous. The cable operation is not as smooth, and could bind. If the spring ever breaks, and cable binds, you may find yourself going full throttle through a red light  :) so I would go with the push pull if they exist as an extra precaution. On another note, seaweb, I remember you saying your frame was bent. Is everything all good now? How's the weather on the west coast? I just moved back to s*itty Ontario and miss the ocean, mountains etc.

The return spring on the 750 carb manifold is bullet proof. Its the size of a small child.

That's true, but at least on my bikes, without the throttle closing cable attached, the throttle grip will turn far past where it should when closing the throttle and gives a very sloppy feel to it, overall.
