G'Day Guys, first of all, I'm sorry that I couldn't stick my hand up to be Oz coordinator, but I spend too much time away from home with both my civilian and military employment to do the job properly, so I'm happy that Mick has taken on the role, well done Mick!
My participation will be limited to weekends mostly, but I imagine that most of the Victorian members are employed, and therefore restricted like me, but I'm happy to coordinate the Victorian leg of the ride, in fact I'm looking forward to getting out with some like minded souls on a decent ride from Melbourne to wherever it is that we do the baton change, as it were.
I'd like to see the tour start in Melbourne of course, but I'll bow to the boss' (Mick's) discretion as to which state gets that honour. Cheers, Terry.
Thanks Terry
I know that everyone has got family/work commitments to meet which have to take priority and I'm sure that we can all work around this together and to keep it uncomplicated.
There's a good group of blokes here who have all shown a willingness to work together as a team and that's all that is needed.
I think that as this all starts coming together, having a State Coordinator is a good idea as you've mentioned mate, just to keep things rolling along.
So, with all of that in mind, maybe we should start another thread here so that everyone can throw a few ideas around and then start working on the logistics, which doesn't have to be mission critical, but at least we'll all know how this is going to come together as well as giving everybody involved an opportunity to be a part of the decision making.
My thoughts are that Melbourne would be the best first port of call for the Travelling Lizard when he arrives from the NZ guys and then work out where to from there.
We're all in this together.
Mick
