Gee, what's the longest trip you blokes have taken your SOHC lately?  Getting your bike working and ready to go is an excuse to get out of one house and into another, usually the dog house  ;D  Now that I've got the K1 back on the road, rebuilt engine, took 6 months and now has 60 miles on it, need a few more to run it in.

When is all this going to hit our shore as I'll be in sandy places in a few months for a while.  Does posting GZ with a SOHC part also work?  Located in Katherine NT, my choices are limited.  If you ride it down to me Mick, I can only go west or south.  Either way it's a bloody long trip unless someone want to come up and explore the top end with me.

G'day Adam.
Good to hear from you mate.
You and I are sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place up north here.

I'm not sure when GZ gets here but it'll be after the NZ leg sometime.
As far as I know, he's still cruising around Canada somewhere or in the general vicinity.

When the time comes, maybe I could come for a blast down to Katherine or you could head up here to Darwin or we could meet at Mataranka and show GZ the Thermal Hot Springs there and also a visit to the Mataranka pub.

Keep in touch mate and we'll work it all out when the time gets a bit closer.

Mick

G'Day Guys, first of all, I'm sorry that I couldn't stick my hand up to be Oz coordinator, but I spend too much time away from home with both my civilian and military employment to do the job properly, so I'm happy that Mick has taken on the role, well done Mick!

My participation will be limited to weekends mostly, but I imagine that most of the Victorian members are employed, and therefore restricted like me, but I'm happy to coordinate the Victorian leg of the ride, in fact I'm looking forward to getting out with some like minded souls on a decent ride from Melbourne to wherever it is that we do the baton change, as it were.

I'd like to see the tour start in Melbourne of course, but I'll bow to the boss' (Mick's) discretion as to which state gets that honour. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Thanks Terry

I know that everyone has got family/work commitments to meet which have to take priority and I'm sure that we can all work around this together and to keep it uncomplicated.

There's a good group of blokes here who have all shown a willingness to work together as a team and that's all that is needed.

I think that as this all starts coming together, having a State Coordinator is a good idea as you've mentioned mate, just to keep things rolling along.

So, with all of that in mind, maybe we should start another thread here so that everyone can throw a few ideas around and then start working on the logistics, which doesn't have to be mission critical, but at least we'll all know how this is going to come together as well as giving everybody involved an opportunity to be a part of the decision making.

My thoughts are that Melbourne would be the best first port of call for the Travelling Lizard when he arrives from the NZ guys and then work out where to from there.

We're all in this together.  8)

Mick
