Is this an H1?
« on: July 18, 2011, 07:49:48 PM »
I was at a flea market yesterday and ran across this...
I know it is not a Honda but this bike looks sweet in person.....
Any idea how much these go for as well?

Yep, that's an H1 - I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what year, but it's an H1 type.
They're considered to be pretty desirable these days by two stroke guys.
Basically rocket sleds when they come "on the pipe"............sluggish till you hit the power band, then hang on tight, amigo.

Those are incredible bikes, my buddy had one. They are highly collectable, if it's a good runner it could sell for possibly $3K or more.

I think it was a 74'. I tried to sneak a peak at the VIN but did not feel like having someone come out and shoot me. It was across a fence from the flea market. I decided , ahhhh I only live one.. I walked around the fence and snapped a few pics.

That's a Fine Looking Example of a 500 Triple! When they came out, in '69, I read where one still in the crate, was taken to Lions Drag Strip in California. They got it out, serviced it up, made a few passes and ran a 12.7 E.T. Then, they blew the wheels off of a Sportster! LOL! Then they took IT and a New CB750K0 out on the hwy and the Kaw took care of the Honda 750, up to a point and the 750 came into it's power and walked off from the 500. I THINK I still have that magazine somewhere around here. IF I ever find it, I could scan it and post it. Yes, they ARE "Screamers" and so is the H2 750cc!  ;)   Great picture BTW!

I think I read about that online last night when I got home.. I had to search the web to find out what it was but I was able to get the H1 from the frame..... I wasn't sure if I misread it... Now I'm really curious about the bike... Not to sound arrogant or an a$$hole, but the bike was in a place where the people did not seem as if they had that much money... Maybe I can offer a price and see where it leads me....

I guess the real question is why do you have a picture of my woman as your avatar? >:(

I actually miss the H2 I had, even after it threw me off right after I got it.  Aptly named "The Widowmaker".
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Yeah, I have heard THAT term ("The Widow Maker") used in reference to THAT one, more than once myself.

The H2's are even scarier..........
