This one is rather nausea enducing. The odd headlight placement especially gives it a weird line.

Huh...just last night I was thinking how cool a 450 hard tail chopper would be...I am not stupid enough to use a Black Bomber or even a k1 or k2...as if I could even find one of those.  It would be most impressive.
If it works good, it looks good...

As impressive as CB450's obviously are, having ridden one "back in the day" I have no love for them, so I don't actually mind that thing? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

My brother traded in his cb450 for a K4 cb750 and was disappointed with the performance. He thought the 450 was almost as fast as the 750.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
If you love it, set it free, if it stays it's probably one of my 750's.

His 450 had a hooker 2-1 and he rejetted it too. His buddy asked me to port a head off one. I couldn't see where it needed me messing it up.

It is indeed kind of arse ugly but it's clean, finished and returnable to stock which is more than most of the $h1tboxes that make it into this thread
Except for the cut case, obviously that is permanent but again has been carefully and cleanly done
Would I buy it ? Not bl00dy likely, never seen the point of the baby 4's and I"m 6'5"......
i blame Terry

Very true Spotty, when I was a wee lad the only person I knew who rode a four that wasn't a 750 was a cute girl who owned a 400F and a 450 twin, who was generous enough to let me ride her bikes, with her on the back.

Hmmnn, in hindsight, maybe I should have stayed home and not joined the Army? I wonder what happened to her, anyway? But regardless, if the owner started with a clean, low mileage bike, why not just leave it alone? I mean, it doesn't look like he's added any value to it? ;D

man, you guys can hardly veil your jealousy can you?? It's not even a baby four is it? I thought that was reserved for the 400F and below  :P

My personal "favorite" detail on this bike is the rhino liner on the carb bodies... wtf...

Well I did restore a 350F Jake, and as much as I loved it I couldn't live with being left at the lights by women in shopping trolleys, I dont know how you tiddler riders can handle it? But you're right, that truck bed liner on his carbs is a classy touch! ;D

I don't think that the 750 is much faster than the 400. I would be curious to know, though. I have owned a 750 dohc and by comparison the 400 seems faster, weighing roughly 150 lbs. less. It seems faster off the line at least. I'm sure the 750 has a higher top speed. I haven't even really had a chance to use the 6th gear on the 400 yet, though

Yeah, no idea mate, the girl who let me ride her 400F was quite happy for me to ride it like I stole it, and its one saving grace was its ability to rev, because it had bugger all torque, compared to her 450. (I hadn't ridden a 750 at that stage in my short life, I wasn't old enough to have a license then)

I really liked my little 350F, but nowadays even a CB750 has tepid performance when I think that my 1996 VFR750 has over 100 BHP, and of course thats nothing when compared to a modern bike. ;D

Often times its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow, and the cb400f is probably the ultimate proof of that old saying...although compared to other machinery, it applies to sohc4s of all sizes.  They are just fast enough to make ya think you can get after 'em.
If it works good, it looks good...

Very true Sean, I love to flog my Harley Sportster around my favourite circuit, but riding my RC51 at legal speeds is a bore. ;D
