Looking for a spare key - strange key number...
« on: July 19, 2011, 02:16:46 PM »
My OEM key and my seat lock say 132A (the key just says 32A).  The fork lock and the ignition have no numbers on them.  The (bent) key that I have fits in all three locks.  All the places I look for spare keys have a number system that seems different that the numbers on my key and lock - HELP!
:) If I ask a question and forget to post model and year my bike is a '72 CB500 :)

I would check here:

http://www.hondakeys.com/key_id.html

and here:

http://www.motorcyclekeys.com/blanks2.html  (This site references "##A" keys.)

Probably the locks/ignition were replaced at some point.

More information:

My key is a "T3" style but again has a funny number on it.

Both of the above links didn't help (as I already had a look at Hondakeys.com site and the other site doesn't reference my number)

Ok so I might be wrong but it looks like my "proper" key number is T3132A  (T3 being the key type and the rest of the numbers the pin settings).

It still looks funny to me (as nobody seems to have "A" at the end of their key numbers).

Can anyone confirm this for me or help me out here?
