Hey guys/gals,

So I have a few weeks off and I'm restoring the CB. I have the head and jug off and I want to split the cases. Is it ok to flip the motor and set it on the studs or am I going to bend them? I don't see any other feasible way of doing this unless I fab up some kind of engine stand for it. Sorry for the newb question but I'm from the car world and am not used to bikes.

Thanks

I used a milkcrate and it worked great.

Yes its OK to rest the engine on the studs, they can take it. SOP in my experience.

Using blocks or the milkcrate are good ideas, but add to the clutter on the bench. On the studs its sitting at a good angle for working on it too.
