Rider's log thread problem
« on: July 18, 2011, 03:59:35 PM »
Everytime I go to look at the rider's log thread, my computer locks up. I hear the computer start running fast and it just locks up. The computer at work lets me in to it no problem. Anyone else having this problem??

There are a ton of pics in that thread. The more pics to download, the more bandwidth you need. It's not ur computer, it's ur Internet speed more likely.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

That's why I put the Nevada leg in its own thread.  The rider log thread is a little unwieldy.

Good idea Greg. Sean did the same and I can get both yours and Sean's no problem.
Maybe we need to break that big "heavy on pictures" thread into smaller threads so we don't have that problem. Moderators................wadda ya say ???

Howdy, Fred, that one works for me.  Have you tried clearing the cache in the browser?

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to 'tools' and select internet options.  You'll see an option there to delete temporary internet files.  Click on that and the computer will grind away for a bit as it deletes those files.  When that is done you should see an improvement in performance.

Or you could change your settings on the forum.
In the main menu at the top of the page (Home, Help, Search, Profile, ... etc.)

Click "Profile / Forum Profile"

Then on the next page just below the main menu is the submenu (Profile Info, Modify Profile, and Actions)
Click "Modify Profile / Look and Layout"

On that page of options, the 4th option from the bottom is "Messages to display per page" with a select menu. The default is 25 posts per page. Select 5 and you won't have to load so many all at once.
