KZ650 SR 79'
« on: July 15, 2011, 07:20:27 AM »
I know this isn't a Honda but my KZ650 has been giving me issues for a while. The tach does not work. I ordered a new tach cable and it still does not work.

This is how the set look currently.. Should I have put the second washer/locking piece over the tach cable? if you notice there is an 1/8 inch gao from the cable to the engine block.

This looks right I think. Are you sure the tach works? If you take the cable out of the engine, you might be able to chock it up to a drill or a dremmel and spin it. Start slow!! :)
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Or, even easier, you can take the cable out of the tach, start the engine and see if the cable inner piece is spinning with the engine....

Found out the tach was busted... Here is a link of my hard work piecing together one working tach from two busted ones....
