Fuel cap for 450SC
« on: July 19, 2011, 12:11:39 PM »
Anybody know which models I can get a cap from that will fit an '82 CB450SC? My google attempts only bring up generic caps, and I'm unsure about them.

www.motogrid.com has a nice feature, click the 'buy parts online' button to look up a part number, get the honda part number, and click the 'buy parts online' button again, select honda and enter your part number and click search. That gas cap was used on about 50 different variants. I'm sure you can find a used one or just buy one from Motogrid for like $36.

Cheers!

Thanks Alan, my google skills were not strong enough for this one. This will make my wife quite happy.

If the generic cap says it will fit your CB450sc then I would consider it.
Ask for better photos if you have too.

These are the same as your cap. The number has changed over the years so it's a little harder to track down if you are using the original Honda part # because it no longer exists in the system. Currently, it is 17620-460-067. Maybe you are using another #? Anyway, here ya go. Good luck.

I see most Honda dealers have them for $43.95 but Honda Parts Nation has them for $32.96. They usually are cheaper for the part but you may get better overall pricing depending on what the shipping cost is from the other guys out there. I wouldn't buy a generic one. They rarely fit like the original. The proper venting and fit are really important for good flow to the carbs and also considering that's not exactly a small amount of gas you have between your legs there.  ;)
