^^^Well I got lucky, from my car to my bike my wife was always cool with me wrenching away in the garage. Buying her a cb400t and bringing it back to life didn't hurt either, now we get to work on bikes and ride together. Win win in my book.

I have (and have had) lots of hobbies over the years, like mountain biking, road cycling, canyoning. Still do most of them but the motorbike fixing hobby at least keeps me at home and around to help with kids, other jobs etc. Just go to a school reunion and see what some of your old mates have turned into (any couch potatoes out there?) - it could be a lot worse!

I'm still trying to convince my wife to come riding on the back though; she thinks its too dangerous. I've put 50,000+ kms on the road in the last 3 years without incident - safer than road cycling by a long shot.

My wife is not a real enthousist, but she does enjoy short trips on back of the big bike.  But she has respected and encouraged my varied interests for 42 years, including messing with bikes.  I respect and encourage her interests as deeply.  For any relationship to endure it has to be based on mutual respect and encouragement.   Unfortunatly we all too often read statements that make one feel that respect is not present.  Some may believe it's just bravado, but if you think it, speak it, or write it, there must be something to it.

Well said.. My wife is the one who got me back into bikes.... For father's day she got me my KZ650.. Then we went to look at a 76 honda cb550k a few weeks later and I have been hooked.... Today I am picking up another 550, of course this is for her... But I am thinking it may be a 550F so maybe I will allow her to have the mint 550k 78' not sure yet...

havent met a woman yet who hasn't tried to change me in some way to be what she wants.

My bikes on the other hand have no problem with accepting me as I am.

If your wife is getting upset over the amount of time you spend at SOHC4 just have a porn website running in the background and when she comes into the room switch to the porn site and say "No, I am not on that damn motorcycle site again".  After a few times she may be glad to see you on the SOHC4 site. ;D ;D ;D
