Unfortunately nobody can tell you exactly which jets are right for you. The best you will get is a suggested starting point, but plan on having several sizes available as you work through the tuning process.

Use the search box at the top right hand part of the screen. Search CB550 jetting, that will bring up the many many posts on this subject.

Make sure that you understand the 'plug chop' process too. The condition of your plugs across the rev range will tell you if you are lean or rich. You also need to understand which parts of the fuel delivery system come into play and at what time. Rich at idle doesn't mean you will be rich at the upper end of the rev range, etc.

Carb tuning is half art and half science. Expect it to take time, and don't plan for perfection because you won't find it. Shoot for running very good, don't bother with great, expecially with pods on 550.

The link from Dime City you posted is showing #130 mains....again, I'm not a jetting expert, but I think that'd make you really, REALLY rich...

If your '75 CB550 still has the stock carbs, main jets should be #100, again, that is if everything is stock. Most people here will know more about this than me, but I'd probably start at 105's and go up from there...

He has pods AND straight pipes. he will need to jump more than 5, but I agree that 130 seems to big for a first attempt.

Since they're cheap, I'd order more than just the 110's...That way if they aren't enough, you have others on hand that you can swap in right away, as opposed to having to wait for them to get shipped to you.

bench synch while they are off.

Usually Carb #2 (2nd from left when facing forward) has a fixed slide. A paint stirer should fit in the carb, draw a line with a marker to indicate the slide height, then adjust the others to match. Also set your air screws to the proper factory setting. This gives you a baseline to adjust from.

One of the other 550 guys will have to answer that one. Your bike has different carbs than that.

If black too rich? Tighten?
