Nice Valiant!

Here's mine -- '64, six in a row makes it go. This was my daily driver for 20+ years in AZ (I rode to work on my bicycle). Bought it an ABQ, drove it up the coast to Seattle and back three times, back and forth to CA a bunch, and took it to Boston for three years (where it sat in a garage for 6 months out of the year). Sold it in 2017 when I moved to CDMX, but to a friend in San Diego so I get to drive it when I visit her.

Had a 1960 C15 as well in AZ. Clear coated it as it was because when I brought it to Boston I figured it wouldn't last. Sold it there after two years to a guy who was 5hitting his pants because it had no rust.

Here in CDMX I don't have a car, just my 350F.

My dad was very proud of his AP5 with push button auto Dave, he bought it in 1969 when he traded in his 1948 Pontiac. (that was still going strong many years later, I saw it at a "Show and shine" at the Bendigo swap meet a few years ago) I bought a then 13 year old AP6 "Regal" in 1978 for 50 bucks, it was in mint condition and still registered. I can't remember if I sold it, or gave it away.

I love sh1tboxes, I leased/bought a new car in 2015 and it's a great car, but doesn't have the same character that a "well used and often abused" car does. I bought my little 25 year old truck in April and am slowly turning it back into a reliable daily driver. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

yeah your like me Terry,i like old #$%* cars, easy to fix no sensors which are more or less just dobbers?plus i like fiddling with timing lights and such, all modern cars look like the same melting ice block?all modern cars have #$%* access to work on things that require #$%* to be removed for no other purpose than to fix some other #$%* for no reason other than to do some #$%* to a sensor?or some #$%*?if it aint got a chrome bumper it dont need a timing light?

Hey Terry...just curious, does Oz have have any special "deals" for registering antique cars/trucks over 25 YO?

Here in Texas, vehicles over 25 years do not require an annual inspection and registration is $60 and good for 5 years, fantastic deal. Texas also allows us to use a "year of manufacture" license plate on the vehicle, I bought a 1970 plate on eBay for my Corvette.

AZ was a great deal too, registration was something like $30 per year, no inspection, and I had a '64 plate on mine (although it's not in the photo).

Here in Washington there's no annual inspections for any private vehicles. Collector vehicle plates start at 35yo and are a one time fee. If you buy a vehicle that already has collector plates you have to pay the one time fee for the time you own the vehicle.

My current daily driver is a 2013 Lincoln MKT with the 3.5 twin turbo EcoBoost V6. The exterior is a nice white pearl and the interior is dark brown leather, which I really like. I bought it 2.5 years ago with 58k miles and now it has just under 107k.

G'Day Steve, yep, Victoria doesn't have annual inspections for any cars or bikes, which is good, but I have seen some modern-ish cars in awful condition because of that, you know, 3 year old cars driving on bald tyres, I saw a woman driving around a shopping centre carpark with a couple of little kids in her new-ish Toyota 4WD and in the low light I could see her brake rotors glowing red, so I'm guessing her brake pads were shot, I can't understand people risking their lives, and the lives of others driving obviously unroadworthy cars around? But I digress.

For cars 25 years and older we have a "Club Registration" scheme. My two CB750's have "Historic plates" and my Z1-B, Suzy T500 and T350 etc will get them soon too. Over here with or small population (25M) but land mass around the same size as the USA, our annual registration fees for cars under 25 years old are more expensive, around $500 USD per year which includes registration fees and personal injury insurance. For vehicles over 25 years old, it's around $50 USD per year including personal injury insurance if you get a historic plate under the Club Registration scheme. The car or bike must pass a one-off roadworthy inspection to qualify for the historic plate, but after that it's not inspected again. You can only ride/drive your club registered vehicle for 45 days per year, but this can be extended to 90 days for an extra 50 bucks.

My old Subaru daily driver and my little truck are both over 25 years, so eventually I'll transfer them over to the club registration scheme as well, once I've retired and I don't need to drive every day.

My twin turbo Subaru is only 21 years old, so will have to stay on full registration until 2026. ;D

'86 Ford for truck stuff and an '89 Supra for boat stuff. I use my CB750 K5 almost exclusively if there's not substantial ice on the ground though.

eh....that...is a nice truck...how's the interior?....I've debated having something like that is better than having all the computer, sensor, and modules my '08 has when it comes to getting those parts in the future...

Ha ha, I got confused, I thought you were talking about a Toyota Supra, and couldn’t understand why you’d use one to tow a big boat like that? Lost in translation….. ;D
