What CAR does a SOHC4 owner drive?
« on: July 26, 2011, 05:22:21 AM »
Ok, you all ride CB750's, 550's etc and obviously you have great taste in bikes; so what kinda CAR do you drive?

Here's my latest ride- a 1976 Ford Gran Torino station wagon. 60,000 orig miles, 351 ci, absolutely runs like a top.
Its so big and powerful, it'll pass anything on the road except a gas station. (14 mpg actually). With the rear seat folded, it'll fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood FLAT inside w/ gate closed. AM radio, crank windows, bench seat. I luv it. Paid $750 for it.

Some previous rides, '66 Charger, '62 polara 500, '78 Lil Red Express Truck, '63 Fury, '78 "Petty Blue" Monaco, '68 Mustang

1964 Plymouth Savoy 426, 2 door post, bench seat, pushbutton auto.

That is a beautiful car Andy, and a bargain to boot, well done! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Everyday - '06 Dodge Laramie crew cab, & yes it's got a Hemi.  ;D ;D ;D

My other project, 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire convertible, 394 auto, steel 5 slots with knock-offs, white with black interior. I haven't been driving it much lately because the tranny has been slipping and I've never been fond of sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck.

Past toys - 1955 Buick Century that I put a '70 455, 400 turbo, & GS rear end in
1963 VW Bug lowered front and 1863cc with a Bus tranny
1969 VW Square Back that I turned into a Pick up
1969 Ford Fairlane 500 that I had completely airborne more than once with up to 3 other people inside.
1982 Buick Skylark that I had for 6 weeks before someone totaled it.
2002 Oldsmobile Aurora & no it didn't have the baby Northstar engine
                  1982 Yamaha Verago 500
1970 Dodge Dart that was orange and had a slant 6 and was possibly the most reliable car I ever had.

I'm sad to say that I don't really own a car. Don't get me wrong, I pay the insurance on 4 cars (my oldest boy's Ford Exploder, my younger boy's Ford Falcon and my wife's two Hyundais) and occasionally I'm allowed to drive the older Hyundai.

I've got a company car as part of my salary package, and anyway, there's not much room for any more cars with 4 or 5 of them parked at my place, but eventually, I'll buy my older brother's Rolls Royce, he doesn't really want it and I think it'd be great for cruising on weekends.

I don't have a pic of it at work, so I stole this one from a website. Cheers, Terry.  ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
