re-reoute breather tube
« on: May 01, 2006, 06:20:40 PM »
On my '70 cb750, any problems with installing a longer breather tube back to the air filter intake to decrease the amount of fumes? I tried installing a K&N type filter to reduce, it helped but did not helpe enough.

Getting tired of the extra fumes, my wife is too.

I guess the only draw back is making the filter dirty quicker.

...I don't think that breather tube matters much...long or short.  I don't think I even connect mine any more...

If you are talking about the breather tube from the head, I just ran a longer hose to a little crankcase breather which I mounted to the side of the bike. Pics in my gallery...

If you're getting excessive fumes from the valve cover breather, I'd say it's time for some new valve stem seals.  Anything else you do will just be a band-aid cure.

Might be right...really don't want to pull the motor but might have too. I will wait until I get my RD on the road so I can have something to ride then I can tear into it.

thanks for the info.
