Topic: 76 cb550 wiring diagram?

I ended up swapping a 76 harness and fuse setup onto my 74.  The problem I'm running into is that all the wiring diagrams I find have the neutral safety circuit like my 74 had.  Maybe the harness is wrong for the 76 I had too, but any help getting the starter circuit wired up would be amazing!

That has the circuit I'm talking about, near the upper right corner. The parts bike I picked up didn't have that.  Thus the confusion.

your talking about the Safety unit.   If you search the forum theres a way to bypass this if you are missing the unit.

Ill see if i have another unit but they are hard to find.  i know ill need one for another build.

I have the box from my 74.  However the plug doesn't exist on the 76 harness.  Otherwise, I'd just plug it in.  There were enough shorted out wires in the 74 harness, otherwise I'd still be using that and have no issues with this circuit. 

The Hondaman quote...isn't that a spade connector on the back side of the fuse panel?

I still have the neutral switch and clutch switch.  I'm just having trouble figuring out how to trigger the starter solenoid.

it should be on the 76 harness.  was it cut off?

I don't see any indication of it being removed from the harness.  When I removed everything from the bike, I remember something being bolted on where the SSM is on the 74 fuse panel, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was or where it went.  I took it off so I could bolt on the SSM from the 74 before finding that harness had multiple broken wires in it.

Doing some more research, it looks like I might have a 550F harness...?

wait. is there a difference between the 550 and the 550f harness?
