Is this enough battery?
« on: July 29, 2011, 08:56:48 AM »
Hey everyone, im looking for a small battery for my cafe stlye build. I have a '76 cb750k thats kickstart only and im running an led tailight and just a speedometer with the 2 stock bulbs with my non halogen headight. i dont have turn signals. I found a battery on dime city cycles site that is 120 cca and 2.5ah, would this be enough to run my headlight/tailight and speedo light? im have a solid state rectifier/regulator if that matters. thanks for any help or advice

Racing only or street use? That might be too small for the street if you end up in traffic. I would do a 7 AH battery.

Its just going to be for the street. That 2.5ah did look pretty marginal and i think they had a 7ah one on the site as well. Im leaning that way as you suggested in case im idling for an extended period of time. thanks for the reply!

I think I've read someone was using a 4.5ah for a similar setup, search!

I ran a 3 ah lead acid battery for years on my 750 with no problems, running a halogen headlight and incandescent tail-light.
