Should I paint my tank and covers John Deere Blitz Black (semi flat)??

I love the wrapped headers look, really not worried about what it may or may not do to the pipes underneath, I want to get some 4-2 pea shooters at some point.

I like the color you have, it is different from the cookie cutter black, just-another-mild-cosmetic-cafe-bikes I see all the time.

I agree with King - I like that color.  But....IMO black never ever looks bad.  Always good.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Here's what my 550 looks like in flat black (and clubmans, which are no longer on it).

I like that grayish silver that's already on it.  Very flattering to the bike

I'm a sucker for gloss black and gold,  but I also like the flat black with red pinstriping.

Well if not painting it isnt an option. Paint it something different, or racey. Black looks good sure, but we've all seen a black (flat, gloss, semi-gloss what ever) bikes.

Thanks for the input everyone.  I painted the bike myself a couple months ago with some left over Titanium Silver Metallic I had from painting a quarter panel on my BMW.  So now you all know the paint to use if you like the color  ::)

The reason I asked is because a couple people have told me the khaki wraps on the silver bike look weird.  Glad to get all your opinions!

I have a buddy who can make any graphic out of vinyl I want to put on the side covers.  My dilemma is that I think no matter what I put on there I will hate it after a couple months.  I have seen the silver cafe bike on here with the black widow on the sides and it looks sweet.  Any ideas of something else that would be cool like that?

before I did mine... "power / fast forward" symbols...
I almost ended up doing something like a Led Zeppelin thing..
I was going to put "Zoso" on the tank and then one of the other symbols from the 4th album.
...second in the pic... same one used for the TV series "Charmed"

btw I'm still happy with my thing and am already planning to redo it with much nicer paint.

I also think Johny5's is really cool ... star/circle.. white/red on black.

I personally think that the simple addition of the chrome tank molding and a decal/something on the sidecovers and you have a nice looking bike.

+1 on the decals. The color is great, just need to schnaz it up a bit with some details and I think youd be happy with it. The header wrap matches just fine.

I think I am going to forgo the tank trim and seat strap.  Not sure "Decnals" are for me either.  I like the less is more kinda thing.  I Would like to build a custom wiring harness and hide it in the frame.  Anyone have experience with that?  I know there arent any easy tips for how to do this, but have people tried running them entirely through the frame?

Other than that how do people feel about gunmetal wheels and gunmetal rear hub and front hub?  I would probably do the spokes black.  My BMW has gunmetal wheels so I figure if I've come this far copying it whats wrong with one more step.

I would use the same paint as the wheels on the bimmer.  I believe its GM's Dark Spiral Grey Metallic.  That's what I used to touch one wheel up when I hit a rock covered in Moss last summer.
