"SUPER RARE"
HONDA SANDCAST WRINKLE TANK 19 LITRE
to suit
1969 69 SANDCAST CB750 1970 70 K0 KO

Here we have a super rare 19 litre Sandcast wrinkle tank. If you need this item then you know what it is so not a lot more I can say. The tank is in overall good order and has no issues from what I can see and I've included plenty of good pictures for you to assess for yourself. There is a reserve and it's not low. This is probably one of the hardest items to find for a sandcast so bid to win.

$1500

Yes, and a reproduction is $1400.  Some guys want original.  Check those tanks you have for the wrinkled metal just below the filler cap.

They actually made a few different variations of the wrinkle tank. There was a no dimple and the last was the 4 dimple tank. The dimples were indentations that were formed in the bottom of the tanks over where the carbs tops were. The dimples were to allow more clearance for the carbs, remember 4 cables which was discovered early on.     The tank in question looks to be the uber rare first generation no dimple tank,a must for a serious restorer of an early vin Sandcast. The tank holds more gas hence the 19 litre designation.  Not all of them bring that kind of cash.

+1 to what they both said.

If this guy is on the up and up, and the tank is hole free and in as good as shape as it looks, it's the Holy Grail of fuel tanks.

Anybody want to fathom a guess at what the selling price will be?
Since he had to let everyone know that it isn't low, I bet his reserve is pretty close to 2.5K maybe 3K.

The tanks are virtually identical....except for the dimples ..or lack there of. The wrinkles are viewed from the filler opening. They all have wrinkles at the back. I am fortunate to have one, original paint excellent condition.

The tank in the picture does not appear to be a K tank....maybe an F?

Here are a few pics of a wrinkle tank I have sitting around. Note the round indentations on the bottom rear section in the area where the carbs would be. Those round areas are called dimples and this wrinkle tank would be a later version and not worth as much as the E-bay tank. :'(

Any stock gold tank cannot be the rare one. Might be some wrinkle gold ones..

The gold tank appears to not be a wrinkle, looks smooth by the filler area. Now the tank on E-bay would be worth even MORE money if it still had its original and rare shorty petcock, another early variation.
