Hey everyone, im new to this forum and to motorcycles. last december my neighbor passed away and his family offered me a heap of iron beneath a pile of snow from his deck. i accepted. after a while of digging it out and bringing it home i got to town on it. it was a 1976 cb750 with 11000 miles, and a stuck motor. all stock. i had it running in 4 days.(lots of marvel mystery oil, that stuff is so good i could drink it). being december i was not able to ride it until late this spring. ive done quite a bit of work on it and replaced the necessary safety parts like tires and drive chain and so on. ive had almost every part of this bike apart except the engine, i did pull it to free it though. not too long ago at the local scrap yard i came across a 1972 cb750 under a pile and dug it out. accually there were two but one was a cb750a. the bike was missing a lot of parts but still has a good motor(i think) had a nice 4-1 exhaust and extra rims. picked it up for $60. no gauges tho so i dont know how many miles are on it. it has some fins on the engine that are broken. im looking to build i decent bike and i wanted to bore the engine. can any of you give your input on what engine i should use. my good bike has compression all over the place 80-102-87-95. but somehow it still runs pretty good. ive put 1000 mile on it so far. i have no clue as to the other engine. ill be pulling it off soon. ill try to get some pics of me material on here soon. thanx.
