Which vintage rotors will fit my 750 hub??
« on: August 01, 2011, 11:56:57 AM »
I keep hearing people mention something about Yamaha rotors that will bolt onto the 750 hub. Are these rotors thinner, smaller diameter, lighter?? Which Yamaha rotors, specifically, will fit? If nothing fits the bill, I am going to get my rotors thinned, maybe even have a bit turned off the outside, then drill to my hearts content, and go from there. GS750 rotors are very close to the same bolt pattern as the cb750, but the center hole is smaller, and GS750 and GS1000 rotors have the same bolt pattern, but GS1000 rotors are much thinner and about 1/2" smaller in diameter.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

The ones I meant were XS 650 and maybe 350/400 twins.
If you are trying to narrow, your stock rotors can be talen apart  to make new center, or thinned at mounting flange.. keep in mind caliper will soon hit spokes. Yamaha mag may be  thinner in that area than a spoked wheel. I checked a Yamaha hub, thought they were thinner where the rotors bolt up but they are not, they just appear thinner due to hub design.
The Yamaha rotors are same 6 bolt pattern as Honda fours, but center holes are different.
