I have a 72 750 that has an oil leak on the left side probably from a bad o-ring, and plan on pulling the motor this winter and redoing the gaskets and o-rings.

What I know from just looking at the bike:

-The front right Stud looks to be a few millimeters longer than the front left and it has be thinking of swapping out the studs  :o

-Cylinder Gasket has been replaced (at some point), its blue.

If Im going through all the trouble of pulling the engine and changing things, should I just change the studs :-\.  I have no idea what studs are in there, and Ive never done this before.  Been looking at every post about stud replacement. I dont wanna torque down the head and snap a stud or have a leaking engine.

Just trying to get a feel for what everyone's thoughts are.

for $100 get new studs and never have to fux with it again.

also another $45-50 could get you a used snap-on collet type stud puller.
I lucked out and got one on ebay with 6 different sized collets for $50 but it didn't have the 8mm 1.00 pitch one that i needed so there went another $40.
I've never screwed up (or had any trouble with) a single stud placement or extraction since.
