Hello:
Got back Sunday from MSTA (rideMSTA.com) River City Ride out of Madison IN. About 60 riders showed from 8 states. AS far away as FL, GA, most from IN and contiguous states. Madison is one of several cities along the Ohio River loosely referred to as River City, depending on who's got the bigger festival going on that week. Including Aurora, Vevay, Tell City, Rising Sun and places that. Madison being one of the largest and with the most historic preservation.
Headquarters were the Riverboat Inn, formerly the President Madison. Semi-famous in the 50s, fell into disrepair and disrepute (rooms rented by the hour), new ownership about 10 years ago turned it around and restored it to former glory, adding rooms and condos and events, live music. Pictures:

Big Top for delicious dinners each night:
Young and old on the veranda
Lots of new iron, used to be VFR/ST heavy. Ducatis made real inroads, fabulous technology, insect like styling.
The Super Tenare has tubeless tires on spoked wheels. Note the spokes are inverted, nipples into the hub, spoke heads threaded thru flanges on the rim, cool!
Oops VFR hit some sand in the shade and bit it. Rider OK. Last guy I would have guessed wold crash out. Reminder of danger.
Paved over Indian ttrails from hundreds of years ago:
Miles and miles along the winding Ohio.
10% grade from the farmland to the river.
Folk Art or a runner?
Routes included 262, 56, 62. I expect to put together a day ride for the SOHC crowd of Indiana shooting for mid-September. If any of you read this that's the plan. Look them up on Google, all scenic routes, Chief White Eye trail, about 325 miles roundtrip from my house in NW Indy. SW Ohioans (Buckeyes) could easily join in.
This was a great ride, fun on the FJR, wishing I was on Phaedrus. I spent 2/3 of Saturday on the KY side of the river, great riding thre, don't get there much. Rode 1/2 of the Indiana loop on Sat afternoon, the other 1/2+ on Sunday going home.
