Always nice to have a choice.

We had a nice group last year. Sorry CBJ and Rose can't make it.

TinTop: Those little black roads are usually nice, at least scenic thru farm country, etc. The ones you point too are doable. That'll be towards the end of the day so we'll see how we're feeling etc.

Extended Forecast: Sunny; high 76; low 51; chance of rain... 0%!  Purrrfect!

few things are more helpful to a bricklayer than nice weather ;)

you can ride in the rain need be, but if you try to lay brick in the rain the motar just runs down the wall, it makes a big mess, the owner don't pay, bricklayer gets mad.....well it's just better to wait for the weather to clear up 8)

Bump for interest and planning. Weather is looking great for Saturday. I'll be going if no one else, stoked!  Meet on the south parking lot of the Decatur County Courthouse in doentoen greensburg under the branches of the Tower Tree.

http://www.decaturcounty.in.gov/Greensburg's_Famous_Tower_Tree.htm

At 8:45 AM. Kickstands up at 9:00AM. No delay. I can't bring myself to ride with anyone not wearing a helmet. Please indulge me. Other safety gear recommended but not "required".

Some of these roads are tricky in spots and a misjudgement can result in a really bad day.

A 10 mile stretch of 62 near Friendship IN, a really nice stretch, has been closed due to a landslide. There is a boring but scenic work around.  :'(

I've already let MCRider know, but I won't be able to make it down.  A family issue has come up that will prevent me from leaving tomorrow. :(

Ride safe, and take pictures. ;)

Sorry you can't make it Schmthaus.  Hope to ride with you again soon.

Also was looking forward to meeting Tintop and seeing his new VFR.  Maybe another time?

I'm still in, MCRider and actually picked up a couple more riders.  I have periodic/random e-mail conversation with the parents of one of my former students from last year.  Their daughter was in my Band class last year (great kid) and went home talking about my helmet/gear sitting by my desk in my classroom one day....turns out her parents are bike folks and really nice people and we've connected a couple times in person and through e-mail messages.  Been trying to find time to ride since last spring.  The dad (Eric) and one of his buddies (Scott) will be joining us tomorrow.  Not sure what they are riding.....I know Eric has an old CB360 (I think that's what it is) as well as a Speed Triple (I think)....not sure what Scott rides.

Looking forward to a beautiful ride tomorrow!  Now to go look for my gloves...brrr.

I'm also disappointed in not being able to get there IndyFour, and join the group.  Maybe a '1st Annual Spring Ride' is in order. ;)

That sounds great! I was wondering if I was going to solo it. But 4 would be a great group. Heard from Raef?

I was prepping the FJR, decided to put in a SpeedBleeder in the clutch line. When I removed the original all the fluid just ran out. Started to have a dick of a time getting it bled again. I was freaking panicking, visions of leading the ride in my Aerostar van. But a little of this and that and I got it bled, whew!

Violated the rule: you got a perfectly good operating bike, 12 hours before a ride DON'T MESS WITH IT!
8:45 Decatur County Courthouse, Greensburg, Group hug under the Tower Tree, kickstands up at 9AM.

My wife made me a grilled cheeze sandwich, my favorite. olive oil, sweet pickles. Says if she never sees me again she wants me to go out happy.  We used to ride together all the time, but she's grown out of it.  60 years old, likes to quilt now.  No prob though.

See ya!

Not gonna make it, daughter has a cross-country invite I probably should attend. Things have not been as smooth as they could be, don't want to sent the wrong impression.

You guys have a great and safe ride and I'll catch up next time.

Gotta go to the kids things. I loved my dad, but he never came to my events. i missed that, looking back.  He thought he was doing me a favor by not bothering me. And maybe i would have been bothered, i was a cranky kid. But not now.

Catch you next time!

There'll be some route changes due to part of 62 being closed from a landslide. I figure you'll all just play follow the leader anyway.  The more i look at it the more I want to add sections. But we'll see how the time goes.

There's a new cool fountain in Vevay i'd like to get a picture at. And as many photo ops as anyone wants. The first 10 miles of 262 has some real tricky sections. We'll talk about in Greensburg. The rest is open, peaceful with a challenge thrown in here and there.

Trying to time it to be in Madison around lunch time. There is a tavern there called Shipley's with world famous burgers. I'd prefer it if we not order alcohol, but we shouldn't pass up the opportunity to stop there.
Leaving Madison, it gets twisty within a few miles.

The 62 detour is straight as an arrow, but roller coaster. Hope we all enjoy.

I coached both as gymnast the older was a state champion gymnast and an all state hurdler, the younger not so much, never missed any of the  older girls stuff. That puts even more pressure to make to the younger girls stuff even though she don't seem to give #$%*

She has a tuff act to follow.

Yeah, last year was south central, this year south east. Maybe next year southwest. Though the pickens are a mite slimmer out west. Though I was in the hoosier natl Forest/West Baden area this year and it was good riding mixed with things to see. Jay's got this fixation on some trestle we have to go to.

Sorry you can't join, Mark.  Next year for sure.

Looks like we will have a CB-less ride this time.  I'm going to be on the VFR for comfort sake.....and gas mileage/range.  When riding the 550 longer distances, I find myself obsessing over where my next fillup is going to be as I usually hit reserve at 100mi or less on that bike.  She's thirsty.

Talked to Eric briefly on the phone this evening.  He was considering riding his VTX (not sure how many bikes he actually owns).  I'm not sure what the other guy rides....but apparently his wife is coming along.

I directed them to this thread when I e-mailed them before, so hopefully they saw your request for no alcohol drinks.  Don't know Eric too well, but he seems to be an experienced/responsible rider and not a drunkard with a brain bucket (or no bucket).  Just my impression.

They are meeting me on the East side at 7:45ish and we'll be on our way to Greensburg.

C U in the morning.   :D
