Headlight reflectors
« on: August 03, 2011, 01:28:30 PM »
I see some models have a reflector on the headlight ears, where the bolt to hold the headlight on would be.

The reflectors I see online have threads that seem to be too small to hold the headlight. The headlight bolts I have are fairly large.

How are the reflectors attached? Do they hold the headlight bucket to the ears, or are they mounted on the bolt somehow?

Bolt head is drilled and threaded for reflectors.

 Ahh, that makes sense.....

Are the non-drilled bolts hardened? How difficult would it be to drill/tap them?

They can be drilled but if memory serves, the ones with the reflectors are narrower and deeper to accomodate the threads.  I think the bolts were chrome and the ones with the reflectors were tin plated steel.
