CB250/350K0 tank painting tips needed
« on: August 03, 2011, 02:26:49 PM »
After missing out on a NOS CB250/350K0 tank last week on EBay (I bid up to 251 Euros but got outbid) I have decided to paint the two tanks I already have. The colour scheme is two tone white/candytone red.

Does anyone have any tips on painting the two tone. I suspect you paint the tank white then paint over this on the top half in red. But anyone know if the Candy needs the usual silver basecoat or is the red painted onto the the white directly. The candy red looks the same as my '69 CB750K0 but that cost me 550GBP to get painted (whole set of parts) and the 250 does not justify that high cost. No nasty pinstriping on the 250 though!!

cheers Ash D (UK)

There are concerns about the seam around the filler and cap that therte are threads here, the seam seems to start to peel away, some trowel epoxy into it I think.

Member 'Kong' has some  posts on painting, you might pm him to find them.
