I paused a few frames from the episode where they raped and violated the '69 sandcast just to do a little investigating. It was a K5 motor in an EARLY SANDCAST frame. The frame on the bike during the molestation definately had a left side horn mount (I'm not talking about the aftermarket sideways horn), the old pics of the bike w/ Feldman on it showed it had a short-neck brake line w/o a rubber cover, and a smooth oil filter housing. Subtle clues proving it was a VERY EARLY sandcast built during the 1st week of production. And that would mean it also had the very desirable high-capacity wrinkle tank (nearly impossible to source and worth over $2500) that was summarily carved open like a tuna can (it was mentioned on the pre-view show that it had a wrinkle tank, and the owner said its very rare). The regrettable part about cutting the top of the gauges off with a bandsaw, and the turkey throwing those sandcast-drive gauges on the floor, calling them "garbage" really showed their true ignorance. The upper triple tree destroyed was also unique to the EARLY sandcasts it being lighter in weight and a few details from later sandcasts and K0's. Totally unnecessary to destroy these rare parts, and ignorant. They could have taken a junked CB750 and had the same end results. Upper trees are a dime a dozen. I liken this to bulldozing the Empire State Building to make way for a parking lot. Or cutting down a 250 year-old Maple tree for a cell phone tower.
Some of us like our old CB750's....
The concensus here by CB750 enthusiasts and experts is not favorable in the least; quite the oppositte to put it mildly.
