For all attending the show, here are some 1/2 ass directions.
These are if you are heading east bound on 90/94 a.k.a the Kennedy - towards the city....

Take I-90 into Chicago, exit at California Ave, at the bottom of the ramp turn right (Calfornia) then take the first left onto Diversey Ave. Take Diversey a couple of miles to Lincoln Ave and make a rignt on Lincoln. Delilah's is a couple of doors down on the left

Do you guys have a guess to when you will be in the area for the show ? We still have three weeks, just like to plan ahead..I was thinking maybe we could meet up, and caravan their together, as long as we get their before 11am, as I need to get a spot for the car..

Damn. Looks like it'll be a good SOHC4 turn out. I'd be really bummed out about missing this event but it's hard to get bummed out about going racing at Grattan.

i don't know who Patrick hung out with, but he did say you would remember him and that you would probably call him a kid.

PT - update on the travel is that we still haven't nailed anything down...How early do you need to be? I will be working Friday - so we probably won't be riding up until Sat, but we haven't all sat down to talk about it...I'll be around the garage this week and will try to find out.

I need to be at the show by atleast 11am to get a spot for the car.
I think it will prob. work better for me to cruise down their solo, and have you guys just give me a buzz when you arrive. No need to rush, especially when I can get their in 15min via the Autobahn
(Kennedy Expresway).

You guys planning on stayin in town for the night , or riding home after the show ?

I am their for sure, with the 55 (bike is STILL not done)
Last I spoke with CBJ, His bike was being "monster garaged" and should be done for the ride. I have yet to talk to STLROCKER, but I am guessing his bike is ready to roll.

Perfect weather in the city + Vintage bikes + Rock-a-billy chicks = Good Time

hey guys - i was up til 3 am this morning working on the thing - wiring done - actually did it right the VERY FIRST TIME...

yup.
front brakes adjusted, bled, fork oil ...

there is a lot to do yet and i'm pushing - run the fuel lines and i should be able to fire her up for the first time - got the new Dyna to set and... we'll see...

at this point i'm running against the clock - i will be running sans registration (in good rocker style), but at least i'll be with the buds...

main problem is i can't do what i really want to do and work on her all day today, i'm stuck here at work instead.

you're gonna laugh you ass off when you see this thing, dude... it looks exactly like your bike!

just the way it's worked out - you and i both happen to like the same color - though you had yours done before me all i can say in my defense is that i've done everything the way i originally wanted to - even though i'm not done yet!

1:17am on Saturday , June 17th 2006

Just got back from riding the CB. I picked it up eariler this afternoon , and only got off it twice.

Once to get fuel - and the 2nd time was to go and pickup the muffler that decided to come loose and fall off the bike

Had to stash it in some bushes - and go back with the truck to get it. One car got a corner of it - but it is back on the bike & ready to roll.
Dont have an odometer anymore, but I had to put ATLEAST 200 miles on my bike today - and my back feels it.

Will post some pics of the scoot tomorrow.
I need to sleep before the show....

well #$%* - up until about 20 minutes ago it was hotter'n'hell here, too - but now it has started to storm -

so the Saint Louis contingent had to leave without me - the plan was that i would get the thing running on thursday night and then be ready friday to leave - turns out Widman Cycles didn't have the simple parts i needed - just a couple of in-line filters...i was pissed, but not sure i would have had the time to get it going anyway...

STLRocker, Scott, came over thursday night and we ended up rebuilding my ignition and setting the Dyna using an meter (bike with no gas) til 2 a.m...

as they were leaving at 4 pm there wasn't much i could do about it as i had to work all day friday...

well, i went over last night (friday) after work having gone out to Donelson Cycles and picked up the filters - I had the bike running in about two hours and, Scott, you were right on with the Dyna settings, bro - it turned over and blasted on all cylinders!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAWHEEE!

my first ride since my crash in October was last night - bar-hopping in the cool night air, nervous as hell, with a big giant grin on my stupid face and a license plate off the floor of the garage...

couldn't bring myself to ride without mirrors as i had planned - i got about a block from the shop and turned it around, went back in and found a couple of big-ass dorky MotoGP mirrors and bolted them down...looks completely ridiculous, but i'll sort that out with some bar-ends soon...

it's raining pretty good right now - the bike is back in my driveway with a tarp strapped over it $:-\$ , oh well, later on it'll be cool enough to have a comfy ride...at least she's home and healthy.

i expect a full report with photos of what i missed -

Glad to hear you got your scoot up and running.
The show was a blast, would of been better if you were their (of course)
The turnout was huge to say the least. Got to meet up with your St.Louis counterpart (STLROCKER) and his buddies, also
ened up parking a bike away from member STEVEF, who is a great guy and won his class. It was pretty funny to see him literaly taking his trophy apart so he could fit it into a bag to get it home

..

My bike went over pretty well , except for a few "wow, another flat black bike" comments here and their I overheard, but those people were riding scooters

.. The 21'' front wheel was a big conversation piece...After the show was over, we went out on a ride down by the lake, got all mixed up, people blowing thru redlights, people riding on the sidewalk, etc...

Ended up at the field museum on the lake taking pictures with all who went on the ride. I will link up the Chicago Ton-Up site once they get it updated.

You DEF. need to be the next one....

Tried to post some pics of yesterday's event this morning to no avail. How do you get pics to show up or upload? Says the file is too large??? One pic? Geez. If Glenn would allow, I'd like to post all the pics somewhere on the board of the SOHC's from the show. There's about 20 or so. Had a good time at the show, about 350 to 400 bikes weather was hot, the bikes were COOL! Good to meet up with Joe (ProTeal55) and was glad to see he got his bike done the night before

!
