well #$%* - up until about 20 minutes ago it was hotter'n'hell here, too - but now it has started to storm -
so the Saint Louis contingent had to leave without me - the plan was that i would get the thing running on thursday night and then be ready friday to leave - turns out Widman Cycles didn't have the simple parts i needed - just a couple of in-line filters...i was pissed, but not sure i would have had the time to get it going anyway...
STLRocker, Scott, came over thursday night and we ended up rebuilding my ignition and setting the Dyna using an meter (bike with no gas) til 2 a.m...
as they were leaving at 4 pm there wasn't much i could do about it as i had to work all day friday...
well, i went over last night (friday) after work having gone out to Donelson Cycles and picked up the filters - I had the bike running in about two hours and, Scott, you were
right on with the Dyna settings, bro - it turned over and blasted on all cylinders!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAWHEEE!
my first ride since my crash in October was last night - bar-hopping in the cool night air, nervous as hell, with a big giant grin on my stupid face and a license plate off the floor of the garage...
couldn't bring myself to ride without mirrors as i had planned - i got about a block from the shop and turned it around, went back in and found a couple of big-ass dorky MotoGP mirrors and bolted them down...looks completely ridiculous, but i'll sort that out with some bar-ends soon...
it's raining pretty good right now - the bike is back in my driveway with a tarp strapped over it
, oh well, later on it'll be cool enough to have a comfy ride...at least she's home and healthy.
i expect a full report with photos of what i missed -
junkie out...
