www.vintagebrake.com

lists a ferrodo shoe for the 450/500/500/550 which, if the information above is correct should work. I've heard good things about their pads but perhaps a quick call to them will answer your questions.

JC Whitney carries EBC shoes for old hondas. See if they have them for your model. If their shoes are as good as their pads you'll do OK.

geeeezzzzz someone has a sandy vagina today. that was probably the most unproductive post ever.

thank you btw i understand the concept of you get for what you pay for. but if the same ebc brake shoes at one website cost $36 and another one charges $28 for the same exact ones thats the kind of deals im looking for.

from what im getting with the people posting are brands that make brake shoes for the cb550 and since there are only a hand full i can search around for the cheapest prices  ;)

I haven't used EBC shoes but their disc pads are considered, by Goldwing owners, to be at least as good as OEM at a much lower price. I use nothing but EBC on my Goldwing. They are not a cheapo product. They just COST less than Honda's. When I'm up for shoes, I'll buy EBC. And it's not just 'cos I'm ex-Brit either.

For years i fitted nothing but Vesrah but the problem is the 500/550 is old hat now and a lot of manufacturers don't make them cos it ain't worth it

How about some feedback on different compounds? I've seen organic, semi-metallic, ceramic? What's the scoop on each one? I would from auto experience go with the semi-metallic for stopping power but they wear out discs and drums faster. Ceramic are expensive but do they stop better? I've had organic disc pads but I find they squeal a bit more. Any other thoughts?

I ordered these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-CB500F-CB500K-CB550K-CB500T-REAR-BRAKE-SHOES-112-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1e63f300f8QQitemZ130525888760QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

and they just came in. I'll have a closer look at them tonight...I was already ordering something from the seller, so I thought I'd give these a shot as I'm on the verge of needing new shoes.

Has anyone used brake parts from this seller before? This is the same guy who is selling the cheap 836 kits.
