Aftermarket Cam and Cam sprocket question cb750
« on: August 04, 2011, 02:10:10 PM »

I am starting to get things lined up for my 72 cb750 engine rebuild.  I was thinking about picking up a cycle x cam to go with the big bore kit I'm buying.  However, I started thinking that I am not sure how I would set the ignition timing on the engine or adjust the valves with an aftermarket cam and/or cam sprocket.

Am I right in assuming that the existing "T" and "F" marks on the spark advancer would be useless with the aftermarket parts?

How do you set up an engine with these aftermarket parts?

Thanks for looking and any replies.

timing is on the crank so won't be affected.
You degree in the cam, it will only be a couple of degrees off from stock position so not a problem when setting tappets (usually less than 10 deg, unless you mill head and block?)
