Yeh, I agree, that's trade bait!!  PM racing wheels would be nice, 17 rear 18 front. O can probably look at Katana fronts and a GSXR 750 17x4.5 rear, chain alignment would be much easier for sure. I got so many 18 rears, but only the big 17. Was the original CC1100F 's 17's? Seems like I remember putting on 750 Interceptor wheel to get a 18. Anyone?

but Mike was not feeling well.He could still hear the carb sync was off though!! Had I got one I'd left it parked, still went 7.0 in 1/8.Lights a good sync tool, also shows dem bent valves!!  >:(  ;D, Bill Whenever I ever get it all right....we just might do sumpin!! Hehe, 2016 here we come!

Not trying to be funny but I doubt the carb synch would have change the ET much unless you're racing at part throttle.

Yeah, I guess you're right, I read lack of carb synch and you posting your ET in the same paragraph so I misunderstood what you were implying. I'll leave you to your motor swaps and bent valves. I've got a  project bike to concentrate on. See you in the lanes next season.

Getting there guys. At least I can sleep in a supine position and the heavy night sweats are better. Still a good amount of swelling around the heart and doing physical stuff makes me really sweat. Luckily I have my oldest son up and the younger one to help do cores to prepare for winter. I am sure you have your snowblower running mint and ready to go Frank. ;D

I thought of snow as soon as you said that, hahaha good to know you are feeling that bit better Mike.

Here's your rear wheel Bill.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Performance-Machine-rear-wheel-for-96GSXR1100-17x6-custom-disc-/252195116855?hash=item3ab8001737:g:ugQAAOSwhcJWJBNd&vxp=mtr

I have seen that one as well, I would want to know the distance from the tire center line and the sprocket center line, it may be too great to work with.

D, that worried me too, so yesterday  I spent $ for a 17x4.5 3 spoke rear off a Suzuki Bandit 600 with cush drive and sprocket, the more power I put out, the less I want no cush drive. I can make 17x4.5 work I think, $59.99 shipped!!!
We'll see, Frank,your thoughts?  Other's?  Thanks, Bill

That reminds me of a question I have.  At what power/traction level dies the cb750 factory rear drum cush drive rubbers get "overworked".

Worst case, launching hard on a slick tire...  would this kill the factory cush drive and be a liability on the track?  If so, is there a readily available tougher cush drive rubber to use?

Don't sweat the cush drive fellas. I had a 5.5" slick on my F model before I converted it to the PM Chicanes. The wheel was a 4.25" Buchanan aluminum rim laced onto an earlier F model hub with the cush drive. I would regularly do low 1.40 sixty foot times with the bike. I ran it for over 16 years and not once did I see any issues with the rubbers. If I was cutting 1.20 something sixty foots, I would get worried. Not sure about squeezing a 180 series tire on a 4.5" rim. I almost went that route with this new project bike but decided against it as the contact patch will be very narrow when puckered up on that little rim. But hey, a Shinko hookup is way better than any 18" street tire available. It can only help- just not what I would personally do if I was shooting for lower 60' times. Trying to cut corners by saving a dollar has hurt me in the past.

Bill I can't speak for the Bandit 600 wheel, I have a couple 4.5 bandit wheels (not sure of model) and they both use a smaller axle (17mm?)along with having a chain spacing that is not usable.

One thing to note about modern sportbike is the design of the swing arm. If you've ever taken a close look at one you will see that they are not symmetrically constructed along the lengths of both sides. The left side is typically kicked out more on the left side to allow proper space for the wider hub and sprocket carrier on the chain side. This allows the wheel to follow the centerline of the frame and front tire. However, the front sprocket is leftward so the rear carrier is design to move away from the rear wheel for proper chain alignment. This wheel design  creates an issue when shooting for chain alignment in an older bike that has a traditionally built arm with no left offset. Even using a front offset is sometimes not sufficient to permit chain alignment. I think someone posted on here that they had to machine the carrier down to move it inward on the early GSxr wheel. Some modifications will gave to be done to the rear wheel no matter which one you use. TurboD seems to have perfected the use of the GSXR wheel installed in a stock, extended arm and can speak of his methods better than I. This is one reason I prefer the PM,Chicane wheel as the sprocket adapter can be machined down to move both the wheel, and the sprocket inward and to the right to aid in centering of the wheel in the arm and to achieve correct chain alignment with a offset front sprocket. Cush drive PMs are not as easy to work with so I stick with the race wheels with solid drive. Most of the race weights are 5.5" wide, the street wheels are 6 to6.25" wide in my experience.

That was me Frank, I had material machined of the sprocket carrier to get the chain line to work, there's plenty of room as long as you aren't trying to fit a massive tire on the 4.5 inch rim, A 160 will suffice, with offset front sprocket you could squeeze a 180 {mine had a 180 slick on it, I still have the tire}, the only other mods needed are spacers,  its an easy fit as the axle sizes are the same {Pictures of the install in stock arm on the previous page}  , you'll also have to adapt a brake pedal/ master cylinder set up for the disc brakes but thats relatively easy for you guys..... Its really not that hard at all, actually, I even go as far as to say its easier than the PM wheel, not too sure why you'd think its harder...?...
