petcock compatability?

hey all...
anyone know if a cb650 petcock is compatible with a 1980 cb750 custom tank on a 76 cb750f bike?

It might be the same as a 81/82 650.  are the 750 carbs CV's?

what are "CV" carbs?

Constant Velocity.  Depend on air opening the jets up intsead of a slide connected to the cable.  Are the tops round?

yes, they are round -- screw on tops, not the oblong type that i have seen on some other 750 carbs

Should be the same as the 81/82 650.  Never compared them side by side with the 750 but might be. Someone told me the carbs where the same as the 750 and they look it but he was sellin them. Older 650s had smaller petcocks.
I have one some where if you have a calliper we could compare mesurments.

I only have a set of dial callipers that are in inches.  The od of the tank bung is .700 (38 or so mm?)
with a 1.o metric thread.  The output for the fuel line is .310
