front signal options (cb550f)
« on: May 03, 2006, 11:14:48 AM »
i did a search and nothing turned up that relates to this bike.
i have a 1975 cb550f supersport that i am desparately trying to find front signals for.
in the event i can not find the stock units, what options do i have that will still reasonable on a stock bike?  ie:  what other bikes would have had something the same or very very similar?
or should i just scrap the idea of original winkers and go for matching front & rear in something new?  but again, what would look reasonable?
certainly there must be some people out there that have done this with acceptable results.

much thanks in advance.

Certainly Dave Silver in the UK does aftermarket ones ...cheap
www.davidsilverspares or something,
I made the stems from stainless pipe 'because I was sick of spending money on principal.
polished, threadded one end, through the ears / shell and bolt after a rubber washer on the inside (I also bent a tab on a steel washet to stop them rotating.
They are the same as the 500, not sure about the rest 750's etc.
Paul.
It hurts to admit when you've made mistakes, But when the're big enough, the pain only lasts a second

http://HTTP://WWW.CRC2ONLINECATALOG.COM

In ther "Chopper" catalog, they have some smaller units that wouldnt look bad on a CB.
Any light will work, all on how you wire it up !

Depending on whether or not you keep the stock headlight mount you could do this.  This is what I had going on.  I mounted the blinkers to the headlight and tightened up from inside the shell.  Got the lights on ebay.  There aluminum and very nice..

You could also I guess use them with the stock headlight ears/mounts but you'ld have to cut the threaded bung off the mounts..

Hey there - CB750RR from Ott-MOTO forum here -- I forgot to mention partsnmore.com as a possible source. There is no listing for 550, but the big round signals listed for the 750 should work.
There's a $50 US minimum order though, with free shipping....but lots of extras in the accessories/tools section to get up to the minimum.
