Well I found some M6 1.0 20mm is the size but the head on these is still too big, oh and they were pan head bolts. They had some allen head but nothing that size.

As if I needed any more project bikes.I picked up this manufacture date 06/73, 74 cb550k.complete and unmolested. Thinking of getting it running properly and leaving it as is untill I can decide what to do with it.

A cool pickup, but more like mostly complete and slightly molested.

Hey that looks a little better than mine. I used the tapered heads and a washer. But there is an ace hardware down the street so I might have to go and grab some. Thanks for letting me know.

I just sold my main bike"05 Victory" for commuting to work .I decided to make this bike a little more legal to use as my main bike.I added some rear signals to the license plate frame. I changed out the grips because my other ones were terrible I found out after riding it for awile. And some cool old lever covers from england.I also added a mirror and hooked up my horn.Front signals are on order.Another $80 to the total but safety is important.Gonna change my jets to 115s to see how it runs.I lowerd my needles and h a ve 105s in them now but Im getting some blueing on my pipes. Paint and finish up the seat and im done.I swear.;)

Things are shaping up pretty well now.I finally got the seat reupholstered by great company that did a awesome job.I fabbed up some brackets to mount some signals that I got from a fellow forum member Cprice.I added some speed holes to my exhaust bracket and I'm currently workin on the base coat of the paint. Its going to be a two-tone dual stage paint will be several steps involved starting with base coat and the black second tone, decals and four coats of clear.Im finish with the first silver base and now I am just trying to get the decals placed right.I really digging the silver I picked but im a sucker for intense flake.I can't belive im less than a week fron being done.

Man, your low-buck build puts legions of big-budget builds to shame! Keep up the great work!

And for the speed holes- at first I thought you'd added eyelets to the holes. Come to think of it, that'd be a really, really neat touch!

Awe shucks thank you.The speed holes I drill athe holes, paint, then use a much larger diameter drill bit to kinda counter sink/bevel the edges.Good idea Your giving me ideas of using eyelets/ metal grommets now,I never thought of it till you mentioned it.Now if I could get the courage to drill my rotor.

Very nice Seabass!

Get her properly documented with insurance so you don't get screwed by insurance if you have to deal with a claim. Notes on what you did and receipts can help build a case for its value. Doesn't hurt to create a binder for the bike, documenting history.

Enjoy her!  Weather is getting very nice for riding where you are located.

Great paint job. I've had something in mind like for a future build but I was thinking the charcoal as the base color and the silver stripes. Nice to see pretty much exactly the colors I had in mind.

Got the  problem taken care of. I got a little  crazy with some Marvel mystery  oil in the gas and it was fouling plugs and leaving a oily mess in my cylinders. I'll get it buttoned  up shoot some pictures and carry on.

Well more problems. I thought I figured it out but once the bike got warm again it had the same problem cylinders 1,2 cold. I switched carbs to a different set and the same issue. Next I did a compression test and 1,2 cylinders were about 120psi cylinder #1 and 133psi cylinder #2.with the tester hooked up and #1tdc I went inside to get a drink and came back out to the tester reading 0psi.Not sure but I knew I had a gasket kit and Rings sitting  on the shelf and figured I should do what I should have done in the begining, rebuild the top end. The old gasket did show signs of leaking between  the cylinders but I also pulled all my valves and checked for bad or bent valves and cleaned them up. I have honed the cylinders and everything is In  serviceable specs. So new rings and gaskets. Should be back together this week. Lots of lessons to be learned here like do things right the first time, the hurrier I go the behinder I get, don't count your chickens before they hatch etc etc.
