I don't think there is a "right way" to insert the rear axle. It just clamps the wheel in the swingarm and, as long as the spacers are not swapped, there is no difference in where do you insert the axle from.

Furthermore, he would have a hard time removing and inserting the axle from the other side, because of the exhaust.

I don't know, but to me that tire looks like it's on backwards.  Looks like the tread would channel water into the center of the tread, not away from it.

Centerstand looks to be quite high. Is it missing a stop bracket and rubbing the chain and/or brake rod?

did the dust seal on the LH axle fall out and resting on the spacer? also hard to tell but looks like the shock is pushing the chainguard over.

BINGO!
You got it. It probably doesn't make the world of difference, but I had the right hand spring upside down.
It's fixed now.

The kickstand was put down on soft grass and the bike will fall over in 3...2....1....ouch!?
;D ;D ;D

Shock to swingarm bolts are to long.

They are a bit long, but I thought if I cut 'em the end might go rusty. They're plated.

Centerstand is missing the Step Bar.

Yep that too, what a pain in the a$$ it is too. I've got it somewhere. Will have to weld it back on.  >:(

That's the bracket for the chain guard.

Axel bolt on backwards. Not sure about the tire.

Correct.  ;)

The arrow is facing the right way.

No cotter pin in the axle nut.
Oh yes there is.  ;)

I wish.  :(
