man, I wish I'd seen this thread when Uncle Ernie posted. I'd have chewed his arse....

Miata, ugly damn bubble shape attempts at a sports car.

They need an Italian designer.

and by the way, when I was autocrossing and winning the Blue Ridge Region SCCA I regularly kicked Miata arse with a 105 hp Spider. No way a Fiat Spider should be in the CSP class with
the potential the Miatas have. Miatas have more stock hp, independent suspensions faster rack steering (no rack and pinion on the spider) but they don't have me behind the wheel.  ;)

If I don't sell, I'll be mega squirting it and probably put a supercharger under the hood.
And don't give me no #$%* about Fiats breaking, the Fiat didn't but the Miatas that were running did with regularity.

I got one and it goes over 200MPH!  But is is on NFSU2.  Sweet nontheless.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

i bought a 90 Miata for my wife and i find myself regularly getting behind the wheel.  For a small investment, you get the  MG type feel without the problem mechanics.  i think they are a great car for the money.  Like the commercial said " made for a woman but strong enough for a man"
If I want to scare the hell out of myself, I'll climb on my GSXR.
I don't want it to go like a motorcycle, I want it to go like a rocket!

They need an Italian designer.

It was actually inspired by the Lotus Elan, not Italian, but still European and from the 60's no less.  My dad used to have a Fiat X1/9, now he drives a '91 Toyota MR2 Turbo after falling in love with it after I bought it, lol.

Exactly, all you gotta do is take one for a quick spin and you'll know why so many people enjoy them.  I was against such a "girl's" car for the longest time until I took my mothers for a drive and fell in love with it instantly.  I've never felt more in tune with a car that responded well to every movement of the steering wheel or instant response to the throttle or brakes.  I ended up buying mine from her and then she ended up buying a fully loaded '99 since she missed her "zippy car".
