What you really need to do,

is find out where he lives, then find out where his family lives, then kill everyone in his family. Ya gotta get everyone in the immediate family. That's just basic.

Visit him before he finds out about his family. Maybe squeeze his balls a little (not in a gay way unless you trend that way). Give him a few pricks. It's hard to kick against the pricks.

Next day, visit again. Offer him a deal. Give the bike back, plus $5K, and you will let him live. Some broken bones should go with this. I suggest fingers.

Then sell it on ebay!

I mean that really is the only way to make sure that he wont steal another bike ....
and DEFINITELY what he deserves

What I appreciate about this plan is the brutal honesty, and complete and total attention to detail.  All bases covered, the wife and kids are safe at home, no one alive who is interested in exacting revenge, and you walk away with a couple extra grand and a couple phalanges.  Seriously... that's a win/win situation... for you!

Well, the craigslist bike wasn't mine, bummer.  Also it doesn't look like the cops are gunna do pretty much anything...  I am most likely at a loss here.

I do have a ton of parts now i guess.  Including the Henry Abe 605 pistons if anybody has damaged one or something and needs a replacement.  I have all four though I'd kind of like to keep one of them as a memento of the project, but dont nessicarilly need to.  I also have a full rack of carbs and a partial rack with all 4 bodies.  a 4 to 1 full exhaust (don't know the manufacturer, it came with the bike).  I have a rear fender with tail light (doubt most people on here would want another one of those though). I also have a brand new set of 750 rings if anyone needs them...  let me know I have a lot of stuff and I can let you know if I have it.  I need to run up to my parents and get the rest of it so I can post specifics.

Well obviously the guy that stole the bike is or was smart enough not to list it right away.  More than likely its being parted out.   Did you keep it out side?   Good luck finding and building a new project.

Living in the same area as him,and always getting calls about bikes etc. I already asked him specifically what town he is in and to post up some pics or more info so we can be on the lookout but he has not given anything specific ??  :-\

right, i guess no reason to keep the secret now, I'm in Battle Creek (so I know you know the nature of seemingly most of the people who live here) so I am very close to you.  Though I plan to get the hell out of this dump of a town and move to kzoo as soon as my lease is up.  Unfortunately that is not until November or December... and as my apartment manager is so good at screwing people over it really could be either.  If you have any recommendations on places to rent around there (I'm looking at the Gull Run area) they'd be much appreciated.

also, basically it was half the bike, but the good half.  Most of the engine (really just missing the pistons and the ignition cover.  a green gas tank with badges, the dyna s ignition, wire wheels, a set of clubmans, no rear fender, a mustang 2 up seat, a shotgun taillight off a R6 mounted to the seat, the front fender removed and de-riveted with the cross member reattached to the forks.  the front wheel had both discs but I didnt have the 550 fork on so the second caliper wasn't mounted.  If I can think of anything else I'll post it.

Unfortunately the only pics I had were on my old phone, but I might boot that thing up and try to pull them off.

OK and thanks for letting us know your area. Probably an opportunistic crack head.If it was me I think I would call around to some of the scrap metal places in the area, know Kazoo has a couple big ones, sure there are some your way also and let them know your motorcycle was stolen and see if they can keep an eye out if someone comes in to sell as scrap. They deal with issues like that all the time. There is a place called Scavenger down 131 between Schoolcraft and Three Rivers who has a bike junk yard, may not hurt to put the word in there also or any other scrappers you can think of.Good luckwith it all.  Eric in Kazoo

Battle Creek is really no different than most towns, they all have nice areas and also some sections of town that aren't so nice.Everytown everywhere will always harbour some crack heads, scumbags, lazy thief's and other losers that live to prey on the innocent.
