these are the shocks that came on my 73 750 when i got it, anyone seen these before? they seem to perform well, rather stiff, but thats better than too soft in my opinion. (ha, thats what she said!)

My guess is early S&W, before they were taken over by Progressive.

Not early S@W, its second generation, called Street Strokers , I believe..
Early ones had a yellow retainer up top, but no cup, and I think no yellow 2nd spring, but the adjusters were yellow..

startiing to get a bit harder to remember all that stuff from 35 years ago...

The adjusters are different from my S&W/Monroes (circa '77). My adjusters have round holes for the adjusting tool to engage, while the shocks in question have slots.

They're not any "Brand Name" shocks, they're aftermarket cheapies that were around in big numbers a few years ago. People mistake them for old Monroes or S&W Street Strokers becuase of the fact that they were painted, rather than chromed. Chuck 'em and buy some good ones. Cheers, Terry.

they very well could be cheapies. they are probably kinda old though, my bike had maybe a 93 inspection sticker on it when i got it. the bikes condition was poor and it really makes me wonder why people work so hard to make their #$%* wrong. i doubt the guy was gonna buy good shocks. they are however a lot better feeling than most old stock cb shocks i have gotten to try. thanks for the input to everyone.
