Hose from fuel petcock size?
« on: August 11, 2011, 01:17:39 PM »
I need to replace the tubing from the petcock on my CB350. Anyone know the diameter? 1/4 inch?
Thanks in advance.

1/4" will work with clamps but is bigger than the metric OEM hose.  I got some hose off feebay that was correct.

Stock is 5.5mm.  Like KCC said, 1/4" will work but needs clamps.  3/16" will work but is a much tighter fit than stock.

Thanks. I'd prefer clear tubing myself. I like the ability to see the flow of fuel.

This is aftermarket Tgyon tubing and dosent specify 5.5 mm diam. Probably 1/4. Will work same as other 1/4 tubing. Yamiya sells the OEM stuff.

Read his ad, it is direct replacement for the OEM Honda, 5.5mm.  I have personal experience with this line and it is as good has factory in fit and kink resistance in a tight radius. If you can find it cheaper, in equivalent quality, buy it.  All clear vinyl tubing will eventually become brittle, harden, crack, and generally look, and perform, awful.

Yes it will. That's why I'm buying the stuff at the link provided.
Clear hose looks and works FANTASTIC!

There is a guy on ebay selling 5.5mm as OEM yamaha replacement.  Very cool guy, and exactly what we need too.  I told him to advertise it as replacement for the Honda stuff, since his is cheaper, and actually arrived, unlike the stuff I ordered from another seller.  Not sure if he ever changed his listings to include Honda.

His seller name is camcubes.

I have some 3/16 ethanol safe tygon.  It goes on tight the first time but it doesnt require a clamp.  I have had it off and on at least 10 times and it doesn't leak.  Definitely a good product in my opinion.
" Why does anyone get offended by what someone does to their own bike? I dont get it. "

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

I guess I am blind I didnt see mention of 5.5 mm. In any case glad it works, which is what really matters.
