Got run over while on my cafe racer
« on: August 11, 2011, 11:31:53 AM »
Thats what happened. Sitting at a red light, a mini van turns left and drives straight into me, she turned her head to look through the windshield just at the point of impact. The whole time she was looking out the passenger side window.

So what now? The other driver was cited for running me over. The bike is my 72 CB450. I have heavy front end damage and some custom parts are ruined. The bike is worth way more than kbb of $1300. I know I should have it appraised, anyone know of a company good at that?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Here's the bike I was riding

Call your insurance company immediately!  Were you hurt? If so contact an attorney.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

Damn, Id be heart broken.  Ive actually had that pic of your bike on my phone as the home screen for the better part of this year as motivation to finish mine.  Good luck.  Lawyers arnt fun, but might be necessary in this case.  Id also start thinking about a real number as far as hours of work invested.

you had "that" bike. that is what they have to replace. kbb means not a damn thing. if they jerk you around let them know you are going to seek some assistance from yor state insurance commision. if that doesnt work write a letter to the ins. comm. and cc it to the ins company. that should do it. insurance co has to put things back the way they were before mini van lady hit you.

really go over your insurance policy with a fine toothed comb. i had "full coverage" so i thought it just covered the bike no hospital bills nothing. i'm lucky i had health insurance. a deer tried to kill me in june. i get a notice my insurance isn't paying i contact the guy he said it was full coverage on the bike alone now if some one hit me and didn't have insurance i would be covered. well it's my fault for not reading between the lines. plus they didn't pay crap out on the bike i had paid a premium that covered parts they gave me $300 for $1000 exhaust $600 risers $180 saddle bags $200 forward controls and $500 seat. you can get online and check out settlements on motorcycle wrecks and go after the insurance co. a friend was only going to get a few thousand got online did some research and got close to 40,000 settled out of court. sorry if my spelling is messed up i'm still suffering from head trauma. i thought short term loss was bad when i used to box and mma.
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"
